Honolulu, on Oahu, was our first stop in Hawaii. We stayed with Mike's friend Ryan who showed us some of the local spots. We showed him some of the touristy spots, including Pearl Harbor. The gallery is here.

The Big Island: The Baby
The youngest, geologically speaking, of the islands, the Big Island has an active volcano, black sand beaches, and other natural wonders. We did our best to cover the island; first we drove from Kona to Hilo along the southern route then returned to Kona by way of the north. While there we visited a volcano; for the first time in a while the glow of lava was visible at dusk and into the evening. Great timing! The gallery is here.
The Big Island Helicopter Ride
The Big Island is chock full of natural wonders including an active volcano. In fact, the volcano holds the record for longest eruption. While on the island a backup in the lava tunnels caused lava to surface. The helicopter ride was the only way to see it. The ride also gave us other amazing views. The gallery is here.
